Maysville, KY Maysville, KY Full-time Full-time $17 an hour $17 an hour Immediate hire Job Description Voices of Hope (VOH) is looking for a full time Recovery Coach who will be located in Mason County Detention Center to provide recovery support services in identified criminal justice and behavioral health settings serving as a motivator, recovery resource broker, mentor, and liaison to people with opioid use disorder and their families.
This position will be working on the HEAL grant and directly with the HEAL team but will report to Voices of Hope in Lexington, KY.
The ideal person will be enthusiastic, extremely well organized and passionate in working closely with people in recovery.
They should be passionate advocates for reducing overdose deaths by helping people with linkage to retention on medications for opioid use disorder.

Duties include but are not limited to:
Provide recovery coaching to people using medication for opioid use disorder, with a focus on linkage to MOUD and retention in care.
Educate participants on each phase of their recovery journey including recovery initiation, recovery stabilization, and sustained recovery maintenance.
Provide a model for people in recovery by demonstrating that recovery is possible.
Help participants identify their personal interests, goals, strengths, and growth areas regarding recovery.
Identify and support linkage to community resources (recovery communities, educational, vocational, social, cultural, spiritual resources etc.
) that support participant's goals and interests.
Identify barriers (internal and external) to recovery and develop strategies to overcome those barriers.
Educate and assist family members.
Promote the core values and services of VOH.
Maintain project logs, reports, and records.
Other duties as directed.
Qualifications:
Personal experience with the substance use recovery process.
Familiarity with medication for opioid use disorder (MOUD).
Familiarity with local recovery support services, resources, and communities.
Able to build effective coach-recoveree relationships.
Demonstrated skill in active listening, asking open-ended questions, self-awareness, and treating people as resources.
Able to effectively establish and maintain professional boundaries.
Cultural competency and experience with culturally diverse populations.
A strong customer service mindset.
Bilingual is a plus.
Personal experience with MOUD (e.
g.
, methadone or buprenorphine) as part of your own recovery is a plus.
Peer Support Specialist certification is a plus.
Requirements:
High School Diploma or GED.
Familiar with Basic Windows PC.
Basic knowledge of Microsoft Word and Excel.
Reliable transportation.
Ability to work within a variety of settings.
Comfortable working independently and as part of a team.
